Spellcaster

This black and white illustration shows a wizard casting a spell over an ancient tome. He stands in a side view, the spellcaster raising his free hand in a commanding gesture toward the book, with open book in the other hand. He is dressed in the typical garb of a fantasy wizard, with a wide-brimmed, pointed hat and a long, elegant robe, complete with an oblong central medallion and prominent button closures on the front. The robe he wears looks like it's held closed a decorated belt or waistband. The detail on the stocky little book itself is notably lacking compared to that lavished upon the infuser: The wizard's depiction is amusingly fanciful, but still well-crafted, giving indication of the supernatural forces at work in the canceller's magic. The wizard appears confident and experienced from the front, his facial expression that of one who knows their power. The illustration lends credence to the unusual belief that the cancellation of enchantments may have been quite the spectacle to witness for those viewers privileged enough to have been real witnesses!
